What is HIIT ? (The DEVIL!)

HIIT, or high-intensity interval training, is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.

By incorporating intense periods of work with short recovery segments, interval training helps you give maximum intensity while still maintaining your exercise form. The magic of high intensity interval training (or HIIT, for short) is that it keeps your body burning fat even after you leave the gym.

Here are some examples of a HIIT work out…

Beginners – 3 Rounds, 45 sec work, 15 sec rest.

  • Push ups
  • Squats
  • Jumping Jacks
  • Tricep dips
  • Sit-ups

 

Semi Pro- 6 Rounds, 45 sec work, 15 sec rest.

  • Mountain climbers
  • Squats
  • Burpees
  • Jump squats
  • Sit ups
  • Jumping Jacks

 

Pro- 12 Rounds, 45 sec work, 15 sec rest.

  • Plank
  • Laying leg raisers
  • Mountain climbers
  • Squats
  • Push ups
  • Jumping Jacks
  • Tricep dips
  • Burpees
  • Jump squats
